A Great Weekend down at Yakfest

We just got the truck unloaded and the tools put back in their places after spending this past weekend setting up a booth with my good friends Tim and Cait down at Yakfest. All of my family came by to help or wish me well and thanks to Dallas who helped carry, setup and take down booths. Thanks for everyone who stopped by! The weather held out beautifully, and we had an absolutely wonderful time shaking hands and meeting everyone who dropped by to look at our pieces.

Seeing folks smile when they handle the wooden toy cars or take a sniff of the fresh apple butter makes all those hours at the workbench completely worth it. If you were one of the neighbors who stopped by to chat a spell—thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Now that we are back in the holler, we are diving right back into preparing our next batch of children's toys and sewing up a few more traditional toy horses. Things are moving along nicely!

A Quick Spell Away from the Bench

The workshop doors have been closed for a few days because the grandkids came down to visit. We spent the weekend camping out on the ridge and teaching the little ones how to fish down at the old creek crossing. Caught a couple of nice ones, but mostly just enjoyed the quiet company.

Now that we're back, the kettle is hot. We're starting a massive batch of our signature apple butter, using an honest blend of six different types of apples. It's going to simmer all day long until it's perfectly thick, dark, and ready for jars.
